BRAND STORY
Hyundai, over the past few years, has transcended the stigma of being a "cheaper car" by doing the important things, and doing them very, very well. Through their innovative programs and superior quality, they have grown their market share; but it was through the genius of their branding that they were able to reshape the way the company was perceived. It’s because of this that Hyundai came to us. The brand’s overall direction is strong, but ultimately very conservative. The challenge was to communicate how Hyundai can be "edgy", while still carrying the brand message of maturity and intelligence.
Right off the bat we understood that the Hyundai brand has worked hard to create a powerful, thought-provoking message that feels smart, safe and secure. We set out to honor and maintain that doctrine by incorporating their existing brand-signals into our approach, showing Hyundai in a different light, yet maintaining the overall tone. We often equate brands to people - we had to show the Hyundai that everyone knows, but in a different mood.
Throughout our history of working with Hyundai, we’ve built ideas, visuals, and campaigns geared toward informing the world that Hyundai also has an aggressive side! This is something that has become more and more relevant to Hyundai — apparent by their newer high-performance offerings.
